I wasn't aware octopuses (octopi?) would step onto dry land. You can tell it was getting tired near the end. I wouldn't expect an octopus to be able to breathe well in the open air.
Incidentally, this video is much better with the audio muted. The only sound in the video is of loud, birdlike jabbering from the people.
Octopi often live in tide pools and will crawl from pool to pool in search of captive prey. Aquarium owners have had octopi sneak out of their tanks at night, sometimes snatching fish from other tanks before returning. They're pretty cool. :)
Where IS this? Because it looks like a coral reef thing, and then when it crawls out of the water, it looks like garbage.
the video would have been better had the lil guy leaped and attached to that loud woman's face.
@Amphibia, all of the Northern California coast looks like this.
I wouldnt even close to that thing....you have no idea wat it can do to you if it grabs u with them tentacles lol
Octopuses is the correct plural RJ (it's Greek not Latin) and yes...they will. In fact there's one great story from an aquarium where they were finding sharks dead. They set up surveillance and found the large octopus was leaving it's tank, walking across the aquarium, eating sharks, then returning home as if nothing had happened. They make dolphins look stupid.
