Most of what we think of as Christmas actually developed from a pagan festival called Yule. Only as Christianity spread across northern Europe did the whole baby Jesus aspect get added, and frankly it still doesn't make a lot of sense. What do fir trees have to do with Jesus?

She's a shinning of beacon of what it means to be a Christian. Swearing at child(? He didn't seem that young) and dumping his ass in church is going to solve that problem now isn't it. :/

Man, I'm glad my family didn't react that way when I told them I didn't believe in Christianity any more! She has every right to believe what she wants, but should probably educate herself a bit on the origins of most of the holidays she celebrates in church.
