The Good Ol' Incest Alibi

Update: I originaly uploaded this item as a general "other news" oddity. On a more serious note, it turns out the police department realy screwd up here: (update thanks to LL user copilot1111111 ) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amanda Larrivee, an oncology nurse and native of West Springfield, says the media attention from an "immature comment" made by her 38-year-old brother during an arrest at Samuel's Sports Bar has caused her family embarrassment and humiliation. The Police Department's press release emailed to media, has stated that "When questioned the male and female stated that they were having sex in the bathroom. When questioned further it was determined that the male and female were actually brother and sister." However, in an interview Larrivee said her brother, not her, made the claim about sexual activity. She also said that she immediately refuted his claim to the investigating officer. Sunday my brother and I were playing in a charity golf tournament and afterwards we went to Samuel's," she said. "He had a tough break-up with his girlfriend, and he was really upset about it." Larrivee said she and her brother were having an argument during which he followed her into the women's bathroom, frustrated and angry that she was not upset with the ex-girlfriend over the break-up. "He began to fiddle with the TV, and I'm telling him to stop and get himself together and unfortunately it looked like something it wasn't," she said, referring to a customer who initially reported that the pair was attempting to steal the TV. "All of the charges against (Amanda Larrivee) were dropped," said her attorney, Jack St. Clair, who accompanied her in the interview.St. Clair also said charges against Robert Larrivee are to be reduced from larceny to destruction of property because further investigation indicated he did not intend to steal the televisions. "It was a tremendously impulsive and immature act on his part," St. Clair said. Amanda Larrivee, who is 30, said her family has been greatly affected by the media reports of the incident, which spread across the country, including to Newport, R.I., where she graduated from Salve Regina University. "I have to go to work on Monday," she said. "I just want people to know that what (my brother) said is not true, and I just want it to all go away." http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2012/10/charges_against_amanda_larrive.html
