How to rescue yourself while solo benching. Not a repost!

By now we have probably all seen the video of this kid almost killing himself while lifting alone in his basement. I've seen this video floating around here, it's been posted and reposted so there has likely been a lot said about it already. Maybe to the conclusion that you shouldn't lift alone I won't argue that, it's probably not a good idee and as we have already seen it nearly cost this kid his life. Obviously he was lifting a little more than he could handle. But at the same time there are a lot of people that lift at home and it's not always easy to find someone to stand and watch you just in case something happens. Which is the case with me, I have my bench set up in a garage and for the most part I never have a spotter. And ya, it dangerous, even with a lesser amount of weight. I read somewhere in the comments about a guy who was killed lifting 135 which is relatively light. But apparently this guy simply failed on his last rep, he couldn't bring it back up and that was it, lights out,,, seems like a crap reason to die. So in light of this I wanted to share a couple of tricks that I have used and do use. First off I'm not advocating or recommend that anyone should lifting on their own but if you're going to do it any way this could be helpful to you. This may not save you from being injured but it could save your life..... and it's simple to do
