Happy New Year (um, with over 1200 Firecrackers)

Magnolia Lake in Lower Alabama. She was set afloat with a cargo of Christmas trees rigged with fireworks and doused in gasoline. The sturdy craft was built from cat litter buckets, a pallet, scrap wood and duct tape, and survived the inferno to return to shore the following morning, charred and a little melted, but proudly intact. She was set ablaze on the 8th shot from a 10 shot roman candle. The gasoline soaked newspapers stuffed inside of a sack exploded after a direct hit from the flaming ball. Once ignited, the Christmas Trees did the rest on their own. Over 1200 firecrackers and a hand full of roman candles strapped to the tree branches began to "fire for effect." Onlookers cheered the show and rang in the new year to the smell of smoke and ash. Many thanks to all those who helped build the raft and supply the trees. Looking forward to next year when we take it to the next level.
