Reckless Driver Slams into Gas Pump and Just Keeps on Going

A gas station pump burst into flames after being struck by a car in Madisonville, when the driver decided to plow through the pump and just keep on going. Investigators said the station's surveillance video shows a vehicle careening through the Sunoco station at Madison Avenue and Settle Street at about 4:20 a.m. Monday. The store clerk tried to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher and when officers arrived they told him to evacuate in case the fire spread. The driver blew a tire in the crash, forcing him to park the vehicle. Investigators said a man and woman took off running after the crash. No other details have been released.
