I Killed Skippy - Hitting a Kangaroo Caught on my Dash Cam

Happened to me on the way to work this morning. Hume FWY just before Cooper Street in Melbourne, Aus. I took my eyes off the road and focused on the windshield as it started raining and I was about to turn the wipers on. This is why I didn't brake or react in the full second they were visible and also explains the sissy gasp as I hit it. My reaction time was probably poor anyway as it was quite early. Just goes to show that you only have to take your eyes off the road for 1 second and it's all over. I tried looking for the roo to clear the road or check if alive however it had either jumped away or I just couldn't find it in the dark. NOTE: That isn't the speed camera going off, just the headlights reflecting off the speed camera lenses.
