Just a good technique for getting an attacking dog to release its iron maul grip from someone's arm/face. Note at 0:43 seconds the statement about dogs without collars, or "pitbulls with extremely dangerous collars", referring to many thuggish people who decorate their attack dogs with sharpened spike collars.
