Fraudster sinks his compensation claim when video emerged of him snapping his foot - jumping into a flooded street

Dozy Stephen Robinson narrowly avoided jail after admitting fraud by false representation when council officers saw the clip showing the stupid stunt that left him with a broken ankle. Robinson, 30, told Newcastle City Council he had broken his ankle due to putting his foot through a dodgy metal drain which collapsed. The council had earmarked lb17,000 compensation for the local's pain and suffering. But when council investigators dug a little deeper, they realised there was a clip posted on YouTube of the moment he broke his ankle, on 28 June, 2012.
