Home Invasion Fail - Canada

Richmond, BC - Richmond RCMP have released two home surveillance videos that appear to show an attempted home invasion thwarted by a quick-thinking resident. In the videos two of the suspects can be seen approaching the front door. Meanwhile two other suspects wearing masks and armed with a shotgun and an assault rifle hide around the corner. After the suspects knock on the door, the homeowner opens it briefly, realizes what is going on and slams the door shut just before the suspects attempt to push their way in. The suspects then flee, nearly falling over themselves in their hasty attempt to get away. The images were captured by security cameras at the home on the 4000 block of Blair Drive shortly after 11:30 p.m. PT on Oct. 6. After the incident the homeowner called police, said a statement released by Cpl Dennis Hwang. All of the suspects appear to be wearing sweat suits. Police issued a more specific description of one of the suspects whose face appears in the video. White, with dark brown straight hair. In his late teens or early twenties. Medium build, possibly 178 cm (5'10) or taller. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact RCMP Const. Sangha at 604-278-1212.
