Kinda sad to think about.
Vouchers ftw.
I feel dumber =/
I feel smarter. :)
In lots of European countries high school is obligatory just as elementary school is- you can't just say "I quit" since by the law you are obliged to graduate.
Government is gonna make sure that happens one way or the other.
Second thing is: I never got to choose my classes- there are about 12 classes you HAVE TO take every year and of course you can take the extra ones from the field of your interest.
My point is: ONE of the reasons U.S. crashed and burned as far as the education goes is too much choices.
And yet, no choice. Schools are too governmentally run, so the standards they have are all the same. Where as the European schools compete to get you to go there.
Exactly, that's another reason: too much money spent on education and no one knows where it ends up since there's not advancement in quality. My guess is it goes for cheer leading squad and new football fields. ;)
With 'no one gets left behind' whole country is left behind.
And yet the money clearly isn't spent on cheer leading and such, since the members always have to pay for their own uniforms and stuff.
