Despite their disclaimer that he isn't an actor, I still think he is. Maybe they didn't' hire him, but I still think he wanted his 15 minutes of fame and made this up to get it.

He's written a book about this stuff too, so I don't think he's an actor, unless Dr. Phil really goes all out covering his tracks. But this guy could also just have found money or fame acting like this and decided to roll with it.
