Road collapses due to floodings in Maine

Severe flooding is forcing authorities to shut down roads in several towns. In Freeport, authorities say there has been a road collapse at Route 125 and Griffin Road. Police tell us several roads are closed and the Highway Department and Department of Transportation are working to shut down even more roads. Some of the major road closures in Freeport include one lane of Flying Point Road, near the Brunswick town line. Cheehawk, Varney, Griffin, Richards Lane, Trails End, and Summer are shut down. First shift at the L.L. Bean distribution center has been cancelled due to water in the building. Some residents in Freeport have a boil water order in effect until noon Saturday. An emergency management center has been set up at the Freeport Fire Department. In Acton and Lebanon, the York County Sheriff's Department tells us there are also some major flooding issues. Sanborn Road in Acton is shut down until further notice. Milton Mills Road, near the elementary school is also shut down. The York County Emergency Management Agency says evacuations are underway at Kennebec Drive, Indian shores and Flat Rock Bridge Campground in Lebanon. In Cumberland County, the Sheriff's Department tells us both the North and Southbound lanes of Route 88 are shut down from the Yarmouth/Cumberland line. There are also reports of severe flooding along Route 115 in Yarmouth.
