I have one golden mountain biking rule: if you think you can't do it, you probably can't.
It's not a matter of confidence or courage, it's a matter of skill level and this kind of terrain is not a place the show your friends how big your testicles are.

Also, I'd be a tad more upset if my friend just rolled off a cliff.
