How HASN'T the fire department figured out this is happening yet? Its not like we are supposed to CALL THEM.

I remeber once when something similar happened in the neiborhood I grew up in. It was a spot just outside of the neiborhood that was city property and they were resposible for keep all the space around the power lines clear. A tree grew and touched a very high "powered" line coming out of a power station at the same time it was touching a low "powered" line that is meant for actual use with the near by residential area. The power load went from one to the other and every tv hooked up to cable (pre fiber optic times) blew up down the street and people taking showers at the time were electrocuted (some injury but no deaths). A couple of houses had some kind of gas fire start too, but nothing that spread to other houses or even consumed whole homes.

yes since it is SOO odd for power lines to be by the road

and trees are always tall, especially when powerlines are put in ten years before the tree electrocutes itself
