Our species is doomed. Higher lifeforms are rising.

"What are trousers?" One thing Watson doesn't have.

there is 1 simple fact why a computer never can have EVERY answer right .. as do the humans , you never know everything.

Well, this doesn't seem fair. The computer can probably click the button in like 0.000001 seconds and find the answer in 0.0001 seconds.

Watson has to mechanically push the button, just like a human. Yes, it is surely very fast at searching through information, but the real problem is that understanding an English question is a really hard computer science problem.

I agree. Yes, he can push the button quickly, and answer quickly, but without an English processers, the answers would be all like, "01010111011010000110111100100000011010010111001100100000010010100010000001001011001000000101001001101111011101110110110001101001011011100110011100111111"

whys ur wrong we control comps and allways will and mario man ur wrong watson is an encyclopedia and wyse ur wrong cuz watsons data banks are so diverse that it knows that are making trick questions and english is tricky and blah blah blah already and it can simulate human intuition or what ever

wileib, ask yourself this, what happens to 6 billion people on earth when none of them can do anything better than a machine? Does anyone actually believe that those with the power, money, and intelligent machines, will want to spend their time, money, and investment capital on human beings? Does anyone honestly believe those in control of the machines would use them to alleviate poverty or in any way aid in the further reproduction of an inferior work force? The few remaining that will control everything will eventually be consumed by their creation. Inferior lifeforms don't last in the face of superior competition.

Unfortunately, machines are a (seemingly) long way off from being anything near human. Watson is a really cool demo of new natural language processing techniques, but humans are complicated as ****.

Or, there's always genetic engineering!
