That's aggravated assault on a juvenile and unlawful imprisonment. The store owner needs to go to jail. Which, now that he's posted this video...he will.

@topmonkey , i think if you keep him inside and call the police it counts as a citizen's arrest , so its legal and in some cases rewarded. on the other side .. the police doesnt agree with someone using a baseballbat in all this .. unless you live in texas , that is.

In most states a citizen arrest can only be made for a felony, or breach of the peace, this is misdemeanor shoplifting. Even then only that force which is reasonable and necessary to affect the arrest can be used. Locking in a shoplifter and beating him with a bat doesn't count. Add to that the narration of the shop owner that he was doing it for fun, or to teach a lesson, and not to secure the prisoner...he's going to jail.
