Group of Men Fixing Bike Rack At 3am

A group of revellers in a Lincolnshire town were caught by CCTV cameras as they fixed a bike rack on a night out. The five men had been outside a takeaway in Boston when they noticed a damaged metal bike rack. Footage shows the group spending almost 13 minutes straightening the metal hook at 03:00 BST. Boston Borough Council said it was surprised by their actions and called it "public spirited". The metal rack had been damaged when a car reversed into it. It had been left unrepaired for several weeks. 'Public spirit' Councillor Stephen Woodliffe, from Boston Borough Council, said he had found it "remarkable" as he watched the men on the CCTV footage. "Young people often get a bad press and this shows there are some who want to contribute to their society and do the right thing," he said. "It shows young people acting in a very positive and constructive manner and shows they have a good and responsible attitude to what's happening in their town. "Their actions were very public spirited and impressive." Mr Woodliffe said the damaged fixture had been reported to the council but the men had stepped in before their team could look at it. He said the CCTV shows the group "discussing a strategy" for up to four minutes before tackling the metal hoop, and then taking a further 13 minutes to bring it into an upright position. He said he would be interested to know who the men were to commend them for their actions
