A Tragic Lesson in Road Safety

Take a moment to leave your chair and go hug your kids. Phone your grandchildren and let them know you love them. The video is not graphic, but is compelling. It tells a story of grief, tragedy, sorrow and anger. Yet, it also serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of the road, and dealing with the loss of life. Footage of the vehicle striking the child is obstructed and the tragic incident is not visible. Two mistakes have ended a young child's life; a mother who has not held her child or sufficiently looked for other vehicles as she crossed the road against the lights, and a speeding driver who might be condemned for wanting to save time at the risk of others and not slowing down in the presence of stopped vehicles.
